Plantation Bakkie Commewijne

The former coffee plantation Reynsdorp (Bakkie) was once a flourishing coffee plantation and is located along the Matapica creek in the Commewijne district of the same name in the north of Suriname.
The descendants of the plantation owners have excavated the Warappa Creek and transformed the old plantation into a small and cozy resort.
During the excavation of the creek, old bottles and other artifacts were found. These were of such historical value that their own Museum was set up especially for this collection.
This Museum was named: Museum Bakkie. During the day tour to Bakkie you will relive the past of one of the most authentic plantations in a unique way.
