Maratakka River
The Maratakka River is located in the Nickerie district. This beautiful river has not yet been discovered by most tourists. We have a chance to see manatees, giant otters and due to the many palm trees in Mauritius, we have a good chance of seeing the blue/scarlet winged macaw!
This tour is back to basics, meaning we camp in the jungle, sleep in a hammock, and cook over a campfire. This way you can really connect with nature!

Programma
Dag 1: Paramaribo naar Wageningen
- Vertrek om 7 uur in de ochtend vanuit Paramaribo
- Rit naar Wageningen in het Nickerie district
- Onderweg wildlife spotten zoals toekans en luiaards
- Lunchpauze onderweg
- Aankomst in Wageningen rond 14.00 uur
- Ontmoeting met de bootsman
- Varen in de late middag
- Zelfgemaakt diner om de dag af te sluiten
Dag 2 & 3: Verkenning van het gebied
- Verkenning van zowel de Maratakka rivier als de Nickerie rivier
- Opties om vroeg in de ochtend of laat in de dag te varen
- Zoeken naar zeekoeien, reuzenotters en reuzentoekans
- Mogelijkheid om in de avond het jagerspad te verkennen
- Ontdekken van nachtdieren zoals kikkers en slangen
