Kumalu, more known as Kumalu Dream Island, is located on the Upper Suriname River in the Pikin Rio. As one (1) of the oldest resorts in Suriname, this private island is less than a 2-minute boat ride from the well-known Tapawatra sula.
This beautiful tropical resort is special because of its small scale and the fact that the host (also co-founder) belongs to the local Maroon community. This tour is worth experiencing and definitely an adventure if you enjoy boating (due to the approximately 5-6 hour cruise)
