Jaw Jaw Maroon village Suriname

The famous Maroon village of Jaw Jaw is not only popular because of the impressive rapids and associated sandy beaches*, but also because of the serenity that the place radiates. JAW JAW is one of the few resorts with authentic overnight huts and owned by a local Maroon couple. The tour to JAW JAW is unique because it is designed in such a way that the local Maroon population is involved as much as possible and therefore "piggybacks" on tourism in Suriname. The actions (work) from cook to guide are entrusted to the enthusiastic locals, who do everything they can to make the guests happy. The charm of traditional customs and manners can still be experienced at JAW JAW. From start to finish you will interact with locals, your stay will also be among locals.
